Who is responsible

Leon Smith, trading as Consider Counselling, is the data controller for information you send to the practice. Contact: hello@considercounselling.co.uk.

The practice is based in Hampton Hill, London, and offers sessions online across the UK.

What this site collects

This website does not run an account system. When you send the contact form, the enquiry is emailed to the practice at hello@considercounselling.co.uk. A short acknowledgement is also sent to the email address you give, so you know it arrived. The website itself does not keep a copy of the form.

An enquiry typically includes:

• your name
• email address
• phone number, if you give one
• whether you are asking about counselling or supervision
• whether you prefer online or in-person sessions
• your message

Please avoid sending sensitive details you would not want in an email until we have agreed a more private way of working.

How that information is used

Enquiry information is used to respond to you and to see whether working together could be a good fit. It is not sold, and it is not used for marketing lists.

The legal basis is your request to enter into a possible professional relationship (legitimate interests and, where you have ticked the terms box, your agreement to send the enquiry).

If we work together

Clinical notes and session records, if we begin counselling or supervision, are kept separately from this website and in line with BACP professional standards and UK data protection law. Those arrangements would be explained as part of contracting.

Cookies

Strictly necessary cookies are used only to remember your cookie choice. Optional cookies from Google Maps and Calendly are not set unless you accept them. Details are on the cookie policy. You can change your choice from Cookies in the footer.

How long information is kept

Emails you send are kept for as long as needed to respond and to manage the enquiry. If we do not work together, they are not kept longer than necessary. If we do work together, retention follows professional record-keeping requirements, which would be explained in the working agreement.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask for a copy of your personal data, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, object to certain uses, or complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.

Links to BACP, Counselling Directory, Instagram, LinkedIn, Google Maps, and Calendly are outside this site. Their privacy policies apply if you use them.
